11.19.08: Chris Cox to speak at MCA on Friday

This Friday at 7:30 p.m. Cactus art director Chris Cox will be speaking at the Museum of Contemporary Art for the Applied Idea Series. Other speakers include Ian Coyle, founder of SUPERHEROES, Rick Griffith, creative director/owner of Matter Studio, and Aaron Ray, partner at Legwork Studio.

The subject for Friday is print design, although Chris predicts there will be room to discuss topics from blogging and trendspotting to politics and business. Find more information on the MCA website.

Ian Coyle of Superheros, Inc. is curating a new program called Applied Ideas to connect and engage Colorado's creative community. Check out the letterpress invites - we likey.

The Applied Ideas discussions will focus "on design and its relevance, theory and practice." The first talk, Volume One: Advertising and Design, will be this Friday, Sept 19 from 7:30 - 9pm at the Denver Museum of Contemporary Art. It's featured creative speakers include our very own creative director, Norm Shearer, as well as Cultivator Creative Director Chris Beatty and JoyEngine and cypher 13 Partner Todd Berger.
