Knudson Earl Print AdCommunication Arts' online Exhibit section is featuring our print campaign for Knudson Manufacturing, Inc. The print edition of CA will also feature the work in the May/June issue.

Knudson makes machines that roll-form metal into gutters, studs and roofing panels. Sexy, we know. Fortunately for us, they'd already built a solid reputation through their leadership and innovations in the roll-forming industry. They make solid machines that are built like tanks and last for decades. Problem was, Knudson had been quiet from a marketing standpoint for a few years and people began to wonder if the manufacturer had fallen on hard times.

01.07.08: Welcome to Cactus, Trevor
Trevor SmithToday we announced the addition of interactive superstar Trevor Smith to our team. He's managed web projects for clients including Microsoft, Sears, HBO, Coca-Cola, Kashi Company, Wrigley’s, Reebok, Sony Playstation, Red Bull and Discovery Channel. And, prior to moving to Colorado, he was interactive producer for San Francisco agencies Venables Bell & Partners, AKQA and EVB, as well as Zugara (L.A.) and Threespot (Washington DC).

As interactive director, Trevor will lead Cactus ' in-house interactive and digital production services. He will work with artists, programmers, developers and vendors to bring Cactus’ strategies and creative concepts to life. Smith’s addition enables us to better customize and perfect each interactive project for clients, using the best production companies and Web developers in the world.

We extend a big warm welcome to Trevor, the newest Cacti!

01.03.08: C-Tree gets nod in 2007 AdCritic Top 20
C-Tree TV SpotCactus' C-Tree TV spot has been recognized by AdCritic's 2007 Top 20 list. The animated spot was developed for the State Tobacco Education & Prevention Partnership's Own Your C youth tobacco prevention campaign and launched in Fall 2007. It has also been heralded by Ad Age for using one of the year's 10 Best Ad Songs, "Sunshine" by CocoRosie.

It's nice to get a pat on the back for our work, especially when it's for a cause we care about so much. Thanks to Buck for helping us produce the spot.

12.18.07: Cactus TV Spot Recognized in Ad Age for Best Ad Songs
ad_age_cover.jpgIn yesterday's issue of Advertising Age Cactus ' C-Tree, an animated spot produced for the Own Your C campaign for the Colorado State Tobacco Education & Prevention Partnership, made the list of 10 Best Ad Songs for 2007.

AdAge.com first posted the spot on partner website Creativity Online and featured an interview with Cactus art director Jeff Strahl in its Songs for Soap blog in October. Cactus worked with production company Buck and musical artist CocoRosie to pair the animated story with "Sunshine."

C-Tree is one of three Own Your C TV spots that launched this fall. The TV campaign is intentionally eclectic - we strive to have a variety of styles and tones within our campaign to cater to the diverse tastes and interests of Colorado's youth. 12.06.07: The Denver 50 elevates Denver's national profile
TD50 Group ShotCacti at The Denver 50 Show at the Exdo Event Center.

Last night the New Denver Ad Club (NDAC) unveiled Denve's best work at The Denver 50 Show. Congrats to the NDAC board for pulling off an amazing show. And props for securing such an impressive panel of judges.

The Denver 50 "ideas" and the book that showcases them include a pretty impressive collection of work. While Denver has produced good work for years, with the help of the NDAC (the phoenix rising out of the ashes of the old DAF) we're making progress in being recognized as an advertising hotbed on a national level.
