Boomerang TV shoot |
Sometimes you come up with ideas that exist in an alternative reality, where fantastical things need to happen to convey your concept. Things that don't necessarily jive with the laws of physics or gravity. Then you're like, "Sweet, how the hell are we going to do that?" Well, Spy Films is how we're going to do that.
We tapped Spy, and their super nice and thoughtful Director/DP George Vale, to collaborate on our latest, action-packed "Own Your C" spot, Boomerang. And they came through for us, managing to do the impossible.

FixNixer goes viral |
It all started with a little article by Reuters. Four days later, the news about FixNixer
has spread virally around the globe. It's been picked up by notable publications including MSNBC.com, LA Times, Washington Post, Scientific American, Wired and MediaLife, just to name a few. It has been translated into Spanish, Polish, Chinese, Italian, German and a whole bunch of languages I can't even
identify. Want to see for yourself? Google "fixnixer."
It just goes to show that good ideas can be universally relevant. We hope that this powerful communication tool can eventually aid people far beyond Colorado borders. Next on the agenda for FixNixer
? We'll be presenting it as part of our Quit Doing It campaign at the National Conference on Tobacco or Health in Minneapolis next week.
You can read more about FixNixer
in an article published in our local Rocky Mountain News yesterday.

Local educator's idea goes viral |
I just read an article in today's Rocky Mountain News about the fascinating story of local teacher Karl Fisch's "Did You Know?" presentation. It started as a casual presentation for his fellow teachers at Arapahoe High School in Centennial, Colo. Today is has been viewed by over 10 million people around the world.
How exactly does a small idea go viral to have a big effect? Fisch hit the nail on the head when he said "If you have something to say and say it in a way that resonates, you can be heard."
I've heard the same sentiment many times since I joined Cactus . To us, it's important to reach our audiences in a relevant and impactful way. And, the opportunity to do so has never been greater than in today's era of digital communication.
You can read more about the "Did You Know" viral phenomenon on Fisch's blog . You can find links to both versions of his presentations on the right side.
