Since Rio Grande Mexican Restaurant "the Rio" is one of our favorite restaurants, they were a perfect client for us. Many of us Cacti went through college enjoying the occasional indulgence in a Rio marg. Or two. Or three. So we were thrilled to take on their challenge of creating a new campaign. After a lot of work (and some trips to the Rio for creative inspiration, naturally), Rioisms were born.
What is a Rioism you ask? A Rioism is a descriptive word that encompasses the spirit of the Rio while actually injecting “Rio” into the word. Riofreshing. Riolax. Synchrionicity. Limit Thrio. You get the point.
While concepting this idea, the entire office went a little Rioism
crazy. They were upwards of 50 words tacked to the wall, and suddenly
everyone was offering their own contributions, regardless of whether
they were actually on the account. It’s phenomenal how addicting this
becomes. You can insert a Rioism into just about any conversation,
appropriate or not. I began to think an intervention was needed when
one of our copywriters went home and asked his wife Rebecca, Riobecca
please pass the Riomote.
Try it out. The Rio has launched a new web site , and you can send out
your very own Rioism with the Riovite function. Use one that Cactus
created, or make up an original (or orioginal, if you will). You can
create a customized e-vite to invite friends to join you for some
relaxation, food, and fun. Check it out at www.riograndemexican.com.
