Own Your C Video Contest |
The Own Your C (Choices) campaign has always provided teens with a fresh approach to tobacco prevention and today, Cactus has introduced an innovative new way for youth to hear the most compelling reasons not to use tobacco – directly from other teens. Cactus has launched the Own Your C video contest , asking teens to communicate to their peers what compels them not to use tobacco.

The core value of Own Your C is to promote positive and healthy choices
in all aspects of life, particularly related to tobacco. We’re asking
teens to consider how the choice to use tobacco can impact lives, and
take that revelation to film.
Cactus is using this marketing strategy to put the power of communication directly in the hands of youth. We are relying on the teen’s unique point-of-view and talents both behind the camera and on their computers to present their opinions on tobacco prevention in a genuine and authentic way.
Cactus will provide them a venue through Own Your C to share their voice to reach each other at the Own Your C website and potentially airing the winning videos as part of the 2008 campaign. Teens can enter their video in the category they feel strongest about including the health, cosmetic or social effects of using tobacco, addiction and tobacco marketing. The website allows visitors to vote on their favorite, which Cactus will recognize as the “People’s Choice” video.
With $7,500 in prizes up for grabs, any Colorado teen, ages 13-18, are eligible to submit their video. More information about how to enter the contest can be found at http://videocontest.ownyourC.com/ .
