04.22.08: Last Ball Standing Update
Mammoth Last Ball StandingThe Colorado Lottery has been involved with an ongoing promotion with Kroenke Sports and the Pepsi Center in which three contestants dress in Lotto, Powerball and Scratch ball costumes, and attempt to become “The Last Ball Standing.”

This past weekend, during the Colorado Mammoth game against the Edmonton Rush, Mammoth mascot “Wooly” got involved with the promo (see the picture – sorry about the quality).  The competitors tried their best, but Wolly prevailed in the end (as did the Mammoth, 15-4).Mammoth Last Ball Standing
There are a few promotions left - be sure to keep your eyes open for a “Last Ball Standing” event during the Crush games in May.

02.28.08: Detention Finals at Ruby Hill
The Detention Finale at Ruby Hill last Friday was a blast. Ninety students qualified in the Detention prelims to compete in the final throwdown for the titles of King and Queen of the Rails. To check out a list of winners, visit myspace.com/detentionrails . A free concert by The Photo Atlas, burritos from Wahoo's, board waxing from Purl Wax and tons of free giveaways were perks for everyone who attended.

The biggest winner of the event? Own Your C. Detention helped us reach high school students, their friends and family, not to mention thousands of Coloradoans who heard about the event online or on TV, in a meaningful way. Detention was a great platform to build brand awareness for the Own Your C campaign and to talk to teens about making wise choices in a fun, non-threatening environment. And, the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment, who funds the campaign incidentally, was thrilled that we were encouraging fun physical activity in the process.

Enough from us, watch the video .

02.15.08: Putting creative talents to good use
Obama PosterUnless you have been living under a rock, I am sure you are familiar that we are currently living in a landmark presidential election year. There are candidates running right now that appeal to very different corners of the American psyche. It took me some time to wrap my mind around what each of them has to offer and decide who it was I wanted to support.

The candidate I have chosen for a number of reasons I won’t get into here, is Barack Obama. Once I made that decision, for my own peace of mind, I knew I had to act. At Cactus , Joe has always said that "We are at our best when we combine our talents as advertising professionals with a cause we believe in." In this situation, I couldn't agree more. So, after being put in touch with a local Colorado affiliate for the Obama for America campaign, I decided to contribute in the only way I knew how. Creatively.
