Own Your C hosts contest at 93.3 Bill of Rights |
Own Your C was on hand for the Channel 93.3 FM Bill of Rights show at Red Rocks on Thursday night. Two lucky Own Your C contest winners got a chance to meet the show's two headlining acts: Rise Against and Sum41. The meet and greet with Rise Against was definitely the highlight of the evening, performing a three song acoustic set for 15 contest winners, which included a pretty sweet cover of Black Sabbath’s Paranoid.
Along with the meet and greets, one special member of the Cactus team
got to experience part of the show from the bands perspective during
the Sum41 set. Amy Neumann, a life long Deryck Whibley fan (lead
singer), was called onto the stage to enjoy the set like a true fan.
Must have been that sweet poster she was holding that garnered all the
attention to her, wonder who gave that to her?
You can see her profile in the pic, she’s the one in the back (tough to tell, but yes, it’s her).
Anyways, the show was great, and the crowd was fired up all night.
On a side note (and a bit of a coincidence), George Vale, director of
OYC’s upcoming “Boomerang” spot, also filmed Sum41’s documentary of
their trip to the Democratic Republic of Congo in 2004. Cool.
