11.21.07:
Itching to Scratch |
When Cactus won the Colorado Lottery contract, many of us were immediately hurled into action to research every aspect of the Lottery. This created an unusual phenomenon among all Cacti – an intoxicating Lottery fever.
The fact is, doing so much research on the Lottery makes you really, really want to play. It has turned many of us who didn’t used to play into closet fanatics. The irony is, as contractors working directly with the Colorado Lottery, we are prohibited from playing. And, so are our immediate family and household members.
So now every time a Cacti travels outside of Colorado there is one
certainty: they will buy, or attempt in every imaginable way, to buy
lottery tickets. An entire Cactus production meeting was silenced as we
all scratched $1 Tennessee Lottery tickets. Our PR director scoured 4
convenience stores, and even the Minneapolis Airport lottery store, for
scratch tickets to no avail during a trade show last month. And, I’ll
admit that when I made plans to go to California for Thanksgiving,
giving thanks and time with family was not the only thing on my mind –
I’m itching to scratch.
We at Cactus will scatter throughout the country for the upcoming
holidays. While there may be family drama and airport headaches, there
will without a doubt be some out-of-state lottery playing. And, in
spirit of giving, I hope that those who travel outside of Colorado will
share the joy of Scratch and give everyone a way to play.
